Swara (Founder, dreamer and the younger one):

I was at Olentangy Hyatts Middle School when I had this idea of developing a ‘student first’ approach to ACT tutoring. I took my first ACT test as a seventh grader. That was a revealing exercise, to say the least!

My sister, who went to Olentangy High School, got a perfect score in ACT when she was a sophomore. So I turned to her for advice. I quickly realized the importance of planning, structure, techniques and methods that are so important to achieve a perfect score in ACT. Yes, great materials and lot of studying alone wouldn’t cut it.

My dad is an entrepreneur and my mom is a software professional. I saw an opportunity to become an entrepreneur by developing a platform for students to excel in their ACT test, and decided to give it a shot. Over the dinner table, Test of ACT was born.

Smera (Co-founder and the responsible one):

When I prepared for my first ACT test in my middle school, I scrambled around putting together the best possible resources and a lot of hours into preparation. By the time I took the ACT in my sophomore year, I had more method to the madness. I had developed a schedule and process for to prepare for the college admission tests. I had narrowed down my methods and techniques for efficient preparation as well as taking the tests. It paid off. I got my perfect score in ACT in my sophomore year.

I now work as a Software Engineer at Stripe. When my sister asked me if I could help her with her venture of developing a platform to help students with their college admission test preparation, I readily agreed. This is something that is close to my heart. While I developed the processes and techniques for my own learning, I did not attempt to put it to use for more students to benefit from. I saw this venture as a way to do that!
